President- Gina Morella

I am your proud President for the third year. I have held the position of Treasurer for both CFEA for 7 years and the Sunset Coast Service Unit for 4 years.  I have been with CCPS since 1998, when I began my journey as a full-time substitute at Neil Armstrong. I completed my elementary school years at Myakka River Elementary and moved on to LA Ainger Middle School teaching math. I am currently teaching 6th ACCEL math at Punta Gorda Middle School for a fifth year. I have taught first through eighth grade over the course of my career in Florida.

Beside classroom experience, I am a leader within the district having been a PLC Leader (grade level/department chair), Lead Representative, and SIM Site Coordinator for LA Ainger. Within Charlotte FEA, I am also a Professional Learning Facilitator offering training for our instructional evaluation system using the Marzano strategies.

I believe in honesty, transparency and solidarity. I fight the good fight for the betterment of all teachers, students, and support staff. I look forward to continuing to serve in my role both in the association as well as within the district.

Treasurer- Jessica Edwards

I am happy to be serving as your Union Treasurer. I am entering my sixth year with Charlotte County Public Schools, where I have been a proud union member since the very beginning. During my time in Charlotte County Public Schools, I have worked as an ESE/ELA teacher at Punta Gorda Middle School. Prior to my time in Charlotte County, I worked in education from kindergarten to high school. I have enjoyed working in education from Washington D.C., Richmond Va, to beautiful Key West.

I am happy to call Charlotte County my permanent home where I live with my 15-year-old daughter, Sophia. My exceptional daughter will be a sophomore at Charlotte High this year. Our family is complete with our amazing dog Vader.

I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to represent CFEA as the treasurer. I am honored to serve my colleagues, and look forward to working with the amazing CFEA team.

Secretary - Jolie Jordan

Hi CFEA members!

I’m Jolie’ Jordan, and I'm excited to step into the role of CFEA Secretary.

Teaching is my passion, and this year marks my 17th year in the classroom! Over the years, I’ve taught kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K–6), a Master’s in Reading (K–12), and endorsements in ESOL and Gifted Education. Both my son and I are proud USF graduates!

My commitment to local education is personal, too: my three children have all navigated through Charlotte County Schools—my two eldest have already graduated from the system, and my youngest is just starting middle school! When I’m not teaching or working with our union, you can find me at home with my husband, my youngest daughter, our three dogs, and our two cats.

I’m looking forward to serving and representing you all this year!

Executive Director - Robert Frye

Robert Frye is the Executive Director of the Charlotte Florida Education Association (CFEA) and has spent more than 20 years advocating for public sector employees and strengthening unions through leadership, collaboration, and member engagement. He is committed to helping workers build a stronger voice in their workplaces while advancing high-quality public education and public services.

Throughout his career, Robert has led membership growth initiatives, supported collective bargaining, developed union leaders, and trained members across the country in effective organizing, leadership, and interest-based problem solving. He believes that lasting success is built on trust, communication, and relationships that create solutions benefiting employees, employers, and the communities they serve.

Whether negotiating contracts, mentoring emerging leaders, or speaking at conferences, Robert is passionate about empowering people to lead with integrity, advocate with purpose, and strengthen the organizations they serve. His mission is to leave every organization stronger than he found by developing leaders, building engaged memberships, and creating lasting, positive changes.
